Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 July 2026

EatJP is a recipe management and meal-planning app. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. We designed EatJP to keep your data on your device by default and to collect as little as possible.

What we store on your device

Your recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, photos, tags, and app settings are stored locally on your device. This data is not sent anywhere unless you choose to use Family Sharing (see below).

Family Sharing (optional)

If you create or join a Family to sync recipes across devices, the following is sent to and stored on our server (api.eatjp.com) so it can be shared with the members of your Family:

This data is used solely to provide the sync feature. It is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties, and it is not used for advertising. If you do not use Family Sharing, none of your recipe data leaves your device.

Reminders access

If you grant Reminders access, EatJP adds shopping-list ingredients to a Reminders list you select. This happens locally on your device through Apple's EventKit. We do not receive or store your reminders.

Photos access

If you add a photo to a recipe, the image is read from your photo library only when you pick it, and is stored with that recipe. It is uploaded to our server only if the recipe is synced via Family Sharing.

Purchases

EatJP Premium is an auto-renewable subscription processed by Apple. Payments and billing are handled entirely by Apple under Apple's terms; we do not receive or store your payment details. We only store whether your device has an active entitlement.

Analytics and tracking

EatJP does not include third-party advertising or tracking SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites.

Data retention and deletion

Locally stored data is removed when you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. For Family Sharing data on our server, you can leave a Family and request deletion of your device's synced data by contacting us at the address below.

Children

EatJP is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
